An NCP MLC has complained about the presence of non-vegetarian items in vegetarian food at the MLA Hostel canteen in Nagpur, where monsoon session of the state legislature is currently underway.
MLC Kiran Pawaskar said he had complained to Legislative Council chairman Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar about the presence of chicken and mutton pieces in vegetarian food served at the canteen.
Claiming that he had been noticing this since the last five days, the legislator demanded action against the caterer concerned of the MLA hostel.
He said the chairman assured him to look into the matter, as it comes under his jurisdiction.
Several MLAs, MLCs and officials are currently staying in the MLA hostel for the monsoon session.
