The party also appreciated the move of the Prime Minister of celebrating the festival with the soldiers guarding the frontier at the Siachen glacier.
State NCP chief Thakur Randhir Singh said, "Modi's visit to highest conflict zone Siachen in Ladakh is a great encouragement to our armed forces who are defending our borders under the most difficult conditions".
He also appreciated the package announced by the Prime Minister for the flood-affected residents of the state.
"I welcome the package announced by the Prime Minister for the flood-hit residents of the state. Prime Minister's decision to spend Diwali in Jammu and Kashmir and also with our brave soldiers that too at highest conflict zone at Siachen was a good decision," he said.
