The National Commission for Women on Wednesday asked the Delhi Police to identify unsafe or vulnerable areas in the city and give better protection to women by increasing patrolling and installing 2,000 more CCTVs at such spots.
An NCW delegation met officials of the Delhi Police to discuss ways to strengthen coordination between the commission and the police to collectively ensure safety of women in the capital, NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said.
"The Commission will organise gender sensitization programmes for police personnel, judicial officers, doctors and forensic experts with a view to address certain misconceptions about provisions of laws and also impress upon them the need for prompt action in such cases," she said.
