A group of militants last night came to Urahiloga and Jogibill villages along the inter-state border and beat up 8-10 persons for non-payment of extortion money, a police officer said.
"Three persons were admitted at Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital and one person is stated to be critically injured," the officer said.
The hospitalised persons have been identified as Arun Rabha (40), Anand Daimari (40) and Kanak Daimari (38). All of them are tea growers.
Earlier also, NDFB(S) militants had attacked five persons at Jogibill for the same reason.
