In his valedictory address at the first national conference of investigating agencies, he stressed upon the adequate knowledge of laws and their appropriate use during investigation.
The SC judge emphasised on the need for coordination between various investigation agencies and the prosecution wings to improve the quality of investigation, a press release issued by Home Ministry said.
He mentioned that attention to detail and intuition are the hallmarks of good investigators.
The two-day conference was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday. In his inaugural address, Singh had stressed that improvement in quality of investigation has been long felt demand of the public and such conferences which have never been held before, will go a long way in increasing the quality of investigation and bringing the guilty to justice.
He asked Director General of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) to prepare the Standard Operating Procedure for awarding these medals.
The Home Minister felt confident that such conference will go a long way in helping the Indian police investigation agencies to deal with the challenges of terrorist crimes, cyber crimes, economic and organised crimes.
He felt that more researches should be conducted by BPR&D to assist in the investigation. Singh also stressed the importance of new legislation and amendments required in laws.
