Addressing a seminar on cyber and network security, Rijiju said that to ensure cyber security, concerned agencies have the necessary training, tools and know-how to take on new age cybercrimes.
Cybercrime can only be effectively countered when there is proper coordination and guidance available for various stakeholders, such as residents of a nation, industries as well as the local, state and central governments, he said at the seminar organised by ASSOCHAM.
Legal and institutional support, as well as capacity building of law enforcement agencies requires cooperation of all stakeholders, he said.
Rijiju said exponential growth of usage of technology has also exposed the vulnerability of various institutions to imminent threats like cyber attacks which can severely cripple vital systems, and can bring the entire nation to a grinding halt, thereby severely compromising national security.
