NEET-SS for entry to DM, MCh, PDCC courses to be held on June

The National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for Super Speciality courses will held across the country on June 10 next year.
NEET-SS is a single window entrance examination for entry to advanced postgraduate medical courses like DM, MCh, PDCC, to be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
"NEET for entrance to DM/MCh in terms of Section 10 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 as amended in 2016 shall be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The examination shall be held at various cities on June 10, 2017.
"The examination shall be held as a Computer Based Test and comprise 200 multiple choice questions from MD or MS curriculum followed at medical colleges in India duly prescribed or adopted by Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Union Health Ministry," an official statement said.
NEET-SS, 2017 will be a single eligibility cum entrance examination for the next academic session. It will include DM/MCh/PDCC courses at all private medical colleges, institutions and universities and deemed universities across the country and Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
"No other examination either at state level or institutional level entrance examination conducted by any university, medical colleges or institutions shall be valid as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session," it said.
"AIIMS, New Delhi /PGIMER, Chandigarh/ SRICHITRA, Thiruvanathapuram /NIMHANS, Bengaluru /JIPMER, Puducherry are institutions not covered by NEET-SS," the statement said.
National Board of Examinations (NBE) is an autonomous organisation established by the government in 1982 with the prime objective of conducting post-graduate examinations on all-India basis.
NBE also conducted the NEET-PG for MD/MS/PG diploma admissions in 2013, 2017, NEET MDS 2017 and All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) during the period 2014-2016, the statement said.
