NET exam held in Gujarat

NET exam for professorship in
universities was held at various centres in Gujarat today.
A total of 3697 candidates, out of 5201 who had registered, appeared for the examination held at the MS University of Baroda centre here.
The examination was also conducted at Ahmedabad, Patan and Rajkot centres in the state.
"The UGC conducts NET examination in 95 subjects (other than science subjects for which NET is conducted by CSIR) and at 86 centres. The test is conducted twice every year," said Pradeep Singh Choondawat, Dean, Faculty of Arts, MSU, who was the coordinator for the exam.
NET is the minimum eligibility requirement for the appointment of Assistant Professors in colleges and universities as well as for the award of junior research fellowships for pursuing Ph.D.
