Nav Jeevan Kendra, supported by Jaipur's Catholic Diocese, became operational on Saturday at Lalarpura near Heerapura here.
"The church took up the cause as its responsibility as alcohol abuse has become rampant in the city and the surrounding areas and what is worrisome is the number of youth taking to this abuse," Oswald Lewis, Bishop of Jaipur Diocese, said.
The centre has individual self-contained rooms and large dormitories along with a lecture hall and a refractory among other facilities, Padma Shri awardee Father Joe Pereira, who would be collaborating in its running, said.
