A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet presided over by Kumar.
Briefing about cabinet decisions, Principal Secretary, Cabinet Coordination department, Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters that the new body would ensure faster implementation of the goals set by the Chief Minister for the state in the next five years.
It would ensure faster execution of the seven resolves of the Chief Minister in the fields of human skill mission, agriculture mission, human resources development, infrastructural and industrial promotion, he said.
Election strategist Prashant Kishor, who was recently
appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister for Planning and Implementation of developmental projects, would be a member and assist in execution of the mission, Mehrotra said.
His seven resolves had come as counter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's special package of Rs 1.65 lakh crore including Rs 40,000 crore of previous packages announced during the elections.
The grand secular alliance government of JD(U), RJD and Congress in Bihar will implement the Chief Minister's seven resolves in its governance.
The Bihar Development Mission body would have registration under Society Registration Act, 1960, and would have branches at departmental and district levels.
The state cabinet also empowered the government to take policy decisions for imposition of ban on liquor in a phased manner from April 1.
