of sitting RJD member Uma Shankar Singh on the opening day of the budget session and adjourned till tomorrow.
Speaker Meira Kumar read out the obituary references to Singh and former members Manharan Lal Pandey and P Shanmugam.
Members also mourned the deaths of 36 persons in a stampede at the Allahabad Railway station. Many of the victims were returning after having a bath at the confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati during the ongoing Kumbh Mela.
Earlier, Secretary General T K Viswanathan laid a copy of the President's address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament.
