Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that a new industrial policy would be announced soon.
He held a meeting with Finance and Industries Minister, Abhimanyu and officers concerned, and discussed various issues of the policy here today.
Later, Abhimanyu said that the draft of the policy is in last stage and it would be announced within next 10 days.
"The main aim of this policy will be to increase ease of doing business and reduce the cost of doing business," he said.
He said that discussions were being held to include the concept of 'Make-in-India' and 'Digital India Programmes' in this policy.
Abhimanyu said that the Government was also considering to launch a programme to attract Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and foreign investors.
According to an official release here, Abhimanyu said that "industries were migrating from the state during last 10 years for which political corruption in governance of the state was responsible and the increased price of land was also affecting the industries".
He said that the state government is also working to restart the old industrial units and there are 40 such blocks in Haryana where industrial units needed to be developed.
"Along with promotion of pottery industry, scientific equipment, handloom, textiles and other mills, old units would also be be restarted so that the labourers get direct benefit," he said.
The Minister said that the government is ensuring industrial development in the state. He said that agro industries, food processing industries and traditional industries in remote areas would be promoted so as to generate employment opportunities.
