"This new integrated licensing policy has the potential to generate Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 1,00,000 crore of direct and indirect revenues and earnings for the government in just couple of years," the minister said at a conference on 'Ease of Doing Business' in Gurgaon -- jointly organised by Assocham and Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
The minister also said that there was a need to promote healthcare, education and entertainment sectors in the city.
"Gurgaon can be developed as 'Lifestyle destination of India,' this is what all stakeholders including the industry leaders and general public should yearn for. Gurgaon can be developed as a hub for medical tourism on the lines of Singapore, Thailand and Philippines," Abhimanyu said.
"We want to create an environment where we do not have to deal with anything offline at all, we want to avoid human interaction as much as possible so that everything works smoothly," he further said.
Abhimanyu said, "We are also working on creating a state resident database, which would be a demographic and geographic database, once we do this we believe that every inch of space has an opportunity for entrepreneurship and every individual in his own capacity has tremendous potential to be an entrepreneur. We have to make Haryana as the land of entrepreneurs."
"We were shocked to know that whole functioning of the excise and taxation department was not at all computerised, forget about the assessments, the registrations, issuance of C-forms, refunds and so many more things. In the last six months, we have issued more than 300,000 C-forms after we have gone online," Abhimanyu said.
Talking about the state's Enterprise Promotion Policy, the minister said that people have now forgotten the era of 'policy paralysis' as the new regime has taken a slew of measures in the last 18 months.
