The Western Railway today launched a passenger train between Ratlam and Fatehabad on the newly-transformed broad gauge line at a simple function with the permission of the Election Commission.
As the model code of conduct is in force, no political leaders and railway officials were allowed at the function.
The train will have eight coaches and it will make three trips daily.
The first train took one hour and forty five minutes to reach Fatehabad station from Ratlam at a speed of 90 km per hour. It may be increased to 120 km per hour later.
