"Party would take a decision on the candidature of Gholap, who is the official candidate of BJP-Sena-RPI combine for Shirdi Lok Sabha seat, in a couple of days," said Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event here today.
Gholap, along with his wife, was yesterday convicted and awarded three years in jail by a special ACB court in Mumbai, for amassing disproportionate assets during his stint as social welfare minister in erstwhile NDA government in Maharashtra.
Sena zeroed in on Gholap after its sitting Shirdi MP Bhausaheb Wakchaure quit the party to join Congress.
Gholap and his wife were granted bail by the court yesterday.
