New Zealand won the second one-day international against England by 86 runs at Southampton today to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Martin Guptill made a New Zealand record 189 not out, his second hundred in as many matches after his unbeaten 103 in a five-wicket win at Lord's on Friday, as the Black Caps posted 359 for three batting first.
England, despite Jonathan Trott's unbeaten 109, never truly threatened to reach their victory target of 360 and were dismissed for 273 with 35 balls of their innings remaining.
This series concludes with a day/night fixture at Nottingham's Trent Bridge ground on Wednesday.
Brief scores:
New Zealand 359-3, 50 overs (M Guptill 189 no, R Taylor 60, K Williamson 55)
England 273, 44.
