Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari asked the councillors to to ensure a "clean and transparent conduct" in addressing the public grievances.
He also accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi of putting up "hurdles" in the functioning of the civic bodies.
"It is sad that the Kejriwal government has been creating hurdles to stall the administrative work of the councillors, who have been elected by the people," said Tiwari.
"In today's circumstances, perception matters the most and therefore, the media should regularly be briefed about the works done and future plans," he said.
BJP national vice-president and party in-charge for Delhi Shyam Jaju, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta and former East Delhi mayor Harsh Malhotra also addressed the councillors among others.
Delhi BJP general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan laid emphasis on "proper planning, distribution of work, collective decision-making and disciplined implementation of decisions".
In the polls for the south, north and east municipal corporations held in April, the BJP won 181 of the 272 wards, relegating the AAP and Congress to distant second and third places respectively.
