The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has asked Delhi Development Authority (DDA), NOIDA authority and other departments to furnish complete details of builders and others flouting instructions about dust emission.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar directed the authorities to furnish details within a week and inform it about those real estate builders who have been challaned for flouting these instructions and have not paid the penalty.
The green panel said that in the list of builders, emphasis should be on those who have an area of more than 10,000 square metres.
"Corporations, NOIDA authority, municipal corporations, DDA and all other concerned authorities would file their affidavits, giving complete details of persons flouting the instructions in relation to emission from dust etc and the fine that has been recovered," the tribunal said and fixed the matter for July 18.
"In the event of default, the senior-most officers and all the authorities concerned shall be present before the Tribunal," the bench said.
The NGT had earlier passed a slew of directions to check air pollution caused by dust emanating from construction sites in the National Capital Region and had made wearing of masks by construction workers mandatory.
It had also said that any developer, if found violating the orders, shall be liable to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 and said that construction material of any kind that is stored at the building site should be properly covered so that it does not disperse.
The tribunal had also asked all concerned authorities to take appropriate measures to ensure that all the directions as well as its earlier directions are complied with.
