Union Road Transport and Highways Minister CP Joshi today said, the 180 km Badarpur-Agra section of the Rs 800 crore National Highway-2 widening project (six lanes), will be completed within two years.
Laying the foundation stone of the project at Hodal in Palwal district today in presence of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official release said, as many as nine flyovers will be constructed along the 74 km of stretch, which is in Haryana.
PPP mode will be adopted for ensuring development of roads in the state, Joshi said while addressing a gathering and asserted that the project which was initiated today, will be completed within the stipulated time.
Speaking on the occasion, Hooda said, during the tenure of NDA government, no significant work was carried out by the NHAI in Haryana.
In sharp contrast, during the tenure of UPA government, projects worth Rs 11,000 crore have either been completed in Haryana or are in progress, he said.
Urging Joshi to construct more flyovers or underpasses in the state for the convenience of people, Hooda said, Haryana government is ready to cooperate with the Centre with financial assistance for the purpose.
After Faridabad got connected with Delhi Metro, it is being extended up to Ballabhgarh and will also reach Palwal in due course, he added.
