NHAI's half yearly net loss widens to Rs 133 cr

State-owned National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) net loss widened to Rs 133.04 crore in the six months ended March 31.
NHAI, a statutory body under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, had recorded a net loss of Rs 96.54 crore in the second half of 2014-15 fiscal.
Total expenses stood at Rs 137 crore in the second half of 2015-16 fiscal as against Rs 113.31 crore in the same period a year ago, it said in a BSE filing.
The audit of accounts of the Authority are carried by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) on an annual basis.
NHAI said, "As on March 31, 2015, there is a contingent liability of Rs 22,426.40 crore and 3,50,154 euro against the Authority. Authority has also filed claims for Rs 6,928.27 crore against various agencies."
It further said figures for 2015-16 fiscal are under compilation.
