Taking suo motu cognisance of a media report that highly decomposed bodies of nine persons were found in a gorge covered in polythene sheets in Dimapur district adjacent to Assam, the NHRC also issued the notice to the Superintendent of Police, Dimapur.
In an email to PTI here today, the Commission "observed that the press report, if true, raises a serious question of violation of human rights of the victims and issued notices to the Directors General of Police, Nagaland and Assam and to the SP, Dimapur calling for reports within four weeks".
