The five-member team, headed by Director Ggeneral (Investigation) Kanwaljit Deol, will visit Uttarakhand between July 15 and July 18 for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation, the NHRC said in a statement.
The other members of the team include A K Garg, Registrar (Law), A K Parashar, Joint Registrar (Law), P D Prasad, SSP and C S Mawri, Assistant Registrar (Law).
Incessant rains in Uttarakhand for over three days from June 14 triggered flashfloods and landslides leading to hundreds of deaths.
Around 4,000 people are still missing.
The team would be holding a meeting with senior state government officers on July 16 in Dehradun.
"It will also hold meetings with the NGOs and visit the worst-affected areas," it said.
The team would make assessment of the number of deaths, relief camps, accessibility of food and drinking water and alternate arrangements for rehabilitation of affected people among others.
The team would also look into assistance to farmers, medical facilities, provisions for the last rites of the dead, safety and security of the people, restoration of infrastructure, disaster management system and monetary relief, among others, it added.
