A two-member team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) today visited the Sunday's blast site at Beldih here and collected samples, including pieces of steel from the spot.
The NIA team, which arrived here last night, visited the spot of that night's low-intensity blast, a day after officials of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from Ranchi investigated the site.
East Singhbhum Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jacinta Kerketta accompanied the NIA team which arrived from Delhi.
The team also questioned the priests of the Beldih Kali Temple, near which the blast had occurred.
A low-intensity bomb blast had occurred in a metal dustbin kept adjacent to the Kali Temple at Beldih area between 8.30 pm to 9 pm on Sunday.
A officer in the special task force (STF) said the explosion was apparently caused by a improvised explosive device but refused to say whether any time device was used to trigger the blast.
The pieces of steel collected from the spot were believed to be that of a can which contained the explosive material and was kept inside the dustbin, he said.
Police are yet to confirm injury to any person in the blast.
A team of FSL and BDS from Ranchi had visited the spot on Monday and samples will be tested at FSL to ascertain materials used in the blast, Senior Superintendent of Police, Anoop T Mathew said.
An alert has been sounded in the steel city and patrolling has been intensified after the blast, police said.
