The 33-year-old, who has twins Morrocan and Monroe with Mariah, said that he was sorry for speaking publicly on the state of their relationship, reported Daily Mirror.
"Nick knows that he really upset her by speaking out of turn. She asked Nick to come over to the apartment yesterday to talk--that's why he was there. She told him she needed to get out of town and she was taking the kids with her. Nick was fine with it," a source said.
Last week, the 'America's Got Talent' host had revealed that there was 'trouble in paradise', referring to his marriage to the 'Fantasy' songstress and that they had been 'living in separate houses for a few months'.
