However, copper sheet cutting, brass sheet cutting and zinc moved up on better offtake from consumer industries.
Overseas, industrial metal copper futures turned modestly higher in early Asian trade, after initially losing more ground on China's souring outlook for industrial activity and wider economic woes.
Nickel tanked Rs 15 per kg to Rs 815 from Monday's close of Rs 830 and tin plunged Rs 8 per kg to Rs 1,142 from Rs 1,150.
Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap and lead all softened by a Re per kg to Rs 403, Rs 369, Rs 431, Rs 297, Rs 126, respectively.
Zinc inched up by a Re per kg to Rs 156.
