Nigerian national arrested for duping a man

A Nigerian national who had allegedly duped a man to the tune of Rs 29 lakh after posing himself as a United Nations diplomat and luring him to provide 'raw' dollars which can be turned into original ones after cleaning them with a chemical.
Joseph Exikel alias Godwin Davies Yumkella (36) was arrested by the staff of southwest Delhi Police from Mumbai after a case was registered against him at Dwarka North Police Station.
"Exikel pretended to be a Diplomat of United Nations and lured the complainant namely Samden Sherpa and cheated him to the tune of Rs 29 lakh on the pretext of purchasing chemical to be used to remove ink from 'black dollars' to turn them into real ones," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Suman Goyal.
On getting a tip off, a police team was dispatched to Mumbai where it nabbed the accused.
During sustained interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the case. Police recovered forged identity card of United Nations, forged Gambian Passport, forged sanctioned letter of United Nations, five mobiles phones among others, she said.
Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to affect more recovery and to ascertain his involvements in other cases, police said.
