Vikamsey, who will assume office tomorrow, succeeds Abraham Koshy, who retired from the Board of Federal Bank last month on completion of his term of eight years.
"...RBI has accorded its approval, for appointing Nilesh S Vikamsey, who is a Director on the Board of the bank, as part time chairman of the bank for a period of two years, effective from June 20, 2015," the bank said in communique to BSE.
Vikamsey had joined the Board of Directors of the Bank in June 2011 as an independent director.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Vikamsey is a member of the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the last five years.
He is also senior partner of auditing, taxation and consultancy firm Khimji Kunverji and Co.
