Niti Aayog meets Telangana officials on vision document

Niti Aayog officials today held a meeting with Telangana government as part of consultations with state administrations on preparing a vision document for the country.
Senior functionaries of Telangana government showcased the state's flagship programmes like 'Mission Bhagiratha' (supplying tapped drinking water to all households), 'Mission Kakatiya' (revival of old water bodies) and industrial promotion, an official release said.
The government is implementing Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya to provide drinking water and irrigation facility in the state, said Principal Secretary (Planning) B P Acharya.
Industries Commissioner Navin Mittal said the state government has introduced a scheme, TS-Ipass, to sanction permission for setting up ventures in 15 days.
The state government has given permissions to 2,534 units worth Rs 44,542 crore, the release said.
It said 1,59,926 people have been provided employment opportunities and 1,124 units worth Rs 28,313 crore started operations.
Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration M G Gopal said plans have been prepared to make Hyderabad an international city, it said.
The state officials also explained the progress in their respective departments.
Niti Aayog Advisor Ashok Kumar Jain said the vision document is being prepared for the country on various segments with separate time-frames for achieving goals.
The Aayog is conducting meetings in different states as part of the exercise to prepare the vision document.
