"Nitish Kumar had utilised the RSS' political ladder to climb (into) politics. He should not forget that he was made a Union minister in previous NDA rule which was supported by RSS," Bharti said.
She said Kumar should be prepared to go home if he is talking about making the country free of RSS.
"Sangh had supported the JP movement and Nitish Kumar had emerged as a leader during the agitation. He should not forget this," the Minister for Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation Project told reporters.
Kumar recently appealed to non-BJP parties to make a 'Sangh-mukt' (Sangh-free) country "to save democracy", inviting a sharp rebuke from the BJP.
Meanwhile, Bharti blamed the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government for the drought like conditions in Maharashtra.
"The erstwhile government of the Congress and NCP failed to visualise and change the crop pattern despite Centre's advice. There was a lack of water planning and management by the previous government," she said.
She said a team of Central Ground Water Board would conduct an in depth survey to find solution.
