"It came too late," Kumar said when asked for reaction on resignations of Rail minister Bansal and Law minister Kumar.
Bansal resigned tonight following a directive from the Congress leadership as the government's image continued to take a severe battering over allegations of corruption.
Law Minister Kumar, who is under attack over vetting of CBI report in the probe into coal block allocation scam, also met the Prime Minister and put in his papers.
Stating that the case was a matter of propriety, Kumar, who had resigned as Railway minister from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry owning moral responsibility for the Gaisal rail accident in 2002, also stated "Resigning or not from the post in such event depends on how a person reacts."
Kumar had also disagreed with party President Sharad Yadav's earlier comments defending Bansal and said it was his personal view.
His comments apparently made Yadav change his stance and yesterday he also sought resignation of Bansal on the railgate issue.
