Asserting that there could be no comparison between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said that the latter was "just running a government with useless people who cheat the public".
"There can be no comparison between Modi and Kumar. Modi is running the country, not the government, while Kumar is just running a government with useless people who have cheated the public," charged the Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development minister.
Naidu, here to attend the felicitation of BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on completing 25 years of parliamentary life, also appealed to the people to give the party an opportunity in the upcoming Assembly polls in Bihar if they wanted the state to develop instead of allowing it "go on the wrong route".
"Kumar's ideal, Ram Manohar Lohia, opposed Congress throughout his life, but he (Kumar) joined with it. Going with Congress means going with corruption as that party has been involved in several cases of corruption," he claimed.
He also slammed Kumar for joining hands with Lalu Prasad, against whom he had fought for years and who has been convicted in the fodder scam.
Claiming that Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have remained backward due to casteism and pseudo-secularism, he asked, "Did a Yadav chief minister bring welfare to all Yadavs in the state? Or did a Rajput or Bhumihar chief minister bring welfare to all their fellow caste members in the state?
"In the coming days, the people of Bihar will get an opportunity to bring a good government in the state. Be it Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand or Jammu and Kashmir, wherever elections have happened, our government has come to power. I believe in Bihar, too, BJP will form the government," he added.
