"Over 10,000 contract workers and political activists will hold the demonstration to condemn the anti labour policy adopted by NLC Chairman cum MD B Surender Mohan," AITUC Cuddalore District Secretary M Sekar said.
Former minister and DMK Cuddalore District Secretary M R K Panneerselvam will preside over the protest and petitions will be handed over to the District Collector, he said.
However, police have denied permission for the protest.
The protest by the contract labourers in support of various demands, including regularisation of services, entered the 36th day today. Though 11 rounds of talks have been held, no headway has been made in resolving the issue.
