An official statement said that the agreement was signed by NABCONS Regional Manager R K Das and the NLUP Implementing Board Secretary Zorammawia in the presence of the Agriculture Minister H. Liansailova.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which approved Rs 2,873. 13 crore for implementation of the NLUP made a condition that a third party should be appointed to monitor the implementation of the flagship programme of the ruling Congress.
Earlier, DJRC Ltd. Was selected to take up the monitoring job at the cost of Rs 95 lakh, but did not perform properly and had to withdraw, the statement said, adding that NABCONS, the second highest bidder was now awarded the contract at the cost of Rs 1.15 crore.
