The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately convene a meeting of all chief ministers to deliberate upon the issues arising out of implementation of seventh pay commission.
"We appeal to the Prime Minister to immediately convene a meeting of all chief ministers to deliberate upon the issues arising out of implementation of seventh pay commission...And whose recommendations are likely to be accepted and effected from January 2016", President of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subhash Shastri said here.
"This is necessary to arrive at a consensus to work off financial emergencies", he added.
Addressing a one-day NMC workers convention here, Shastri also urged Narendra Modi to make provision of sufficient funds to be placed with chief ministers to ward off resultant imbalance in case the state governments fail to implement the recommendations of the pay commission.
He apprehended that the failure of state governments to implement the recommendations will pave the way for confrontations with employees which in turn will be detrimental to the progress of the states.
Shastri expressed satisfaction regarding the enhancement of gratuity in the pay report, but however noted that many anomalies still need to be corrected especially with reference to pensioners and those whose pay anomalies were not rectified earlier.
He also expressed hope that the J&K government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will be the first state in the country to effect speedy implementation of 7th pay commission report and the state should reflect its financial needs to the Centre in advance.
Several resolutions were adopted in the convention including early regularisation of 61,000 daily rated workers in various government departments and release of all pending dues.
Besides, sanctioning six per cent DA due from July last in favour of the employees and pensioners and enhancing medical allowances to Rs 1,000 per month were also included in the resolution.
