NMDC to spend Rs 6,500 cr towards capex in FY 19 and 20

State-owned NMDC Limited Wednesday said it has plans to invest nearly Rs 6,500 crore in financial year 2019 and 2020 towards capex even as the miner is expected to start production from its upcoming 3-million tonnes per annum capacity steel plant at Nagarnar Chhattisgarh in FY 20.

According to chairman cum managing director of NMDC, Baijendra Kumar the centre has put on hold the disinvestment plan of the steel plant "as of now."
