Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today told the Himachal Pradesh Assembly that there was no provision for additional funding from the Centre under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in case the expenditure exceeded the original estimates.
Replying to a question of Maheshwar Singh(Himachal Lokhit Party MLA), the Chief Minister said that so far no road was lying incomplete under PMGSY for want of funds in the state.
However, construction of five roads was held up in Kullu due to land disputes and the delay in getting environment clearance, the Chief Minister said.
He said entire funding of roads, construction under PMGSY was being done by the Centre on the basis of detailed project report (DPR) and estimates approved by the government.
The Chief Minister told Ravi Thakur (of Congress) that a number of activities had been identified to boost winter and adventure sports in tribal Lahaul and Spiti districts.
He said these included rafting from Darcha to Jispa, and Kaza Bridge to Tabo on stretches of Bhaga and Spiti rivers, rock climbing in Jispa, mountaineering in Moolkila Glacier, and skiing at Jispa, Kardam, Gompa, Sumnam, Wari, Triloknath and Rangrik in tribal Lahaul and Spiti districts.
