Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Harsh Vardhan today said the BJP did not require any certificate from anybody, including the Congress, on its governance.
"We have been given certificate by 120 crore people in 2014 (for ruling the country) which is still fresh, so we do not require certificate from anybody, including the Congress, on our governance," he told reporters here.
Replying to a specific question on the allegations that the Narendra Modi Government was being remote-controlled by RSS, Vardhan said there was nothing wrong in that as "we are all with similar ideology with focus on Rashtradharma".
When asked why the government was not taking steps to reduce prices of petrol and diesel despite crude oil prices coming to very low, he said, "you are concerned only with reduction of petrol prices. The government is concerned about other economy related issues."
Inflation was brought down to minus, all sections of people, including farmers, were happy due to this progress. "You are seeing the petrol price in isolation," he said.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now become a symbol of aspiration and dream of lakhs of youth, as he has put back the economy on right path and his social security and other schemes were lauded by one and all.
Asked whether the coming Bihar assembly polls would be a referendum on Modi's governance, the Minister said "referendum or no referendum, we will have a handsome victory."
To another question on increasing the retirement age of scientists in his department, he said, "this is a double-edge sword."
Once the retirement age was increased, there would be problem of unemployment for youths, who were waiting for the job, he said.
The government would take a balanced approach in this regard at the right time, he said.
