The accused identified as Anis (45), his wife Shehnaz (40), Mulla Nasir (55), Rahis (40), his wife Rabia (88) and Arif (35), are all labourers and no criminal history has been found during preliminary investigations, Anil Kumar, SP Shamli told newsmen here.
The intelligence department has started its inquiry and efforts are on to trace the sources of origin and the destination of the arms consignment, he said.
Six persons, including two women, hailing from Shamli district in UP were arrested after 11 pistols were found concealed in 11 meat cutter machines along with 22 magazines, during customs checking at the Atari Railway Station on March 6.
