Visiting Chinese Premier Li Keqiang today said it is not Beijing's intention to run trade surplus with New Delhi and stressed the need to resolve the imbalances.
"We have no intention to seek trade surplus with any country, including India. We need to resolve imbalances and achieve dynamic trade balance," he told a gathering of business leaders in the financial capital late this evening.
Li also sought to downplay India's concerns about its competitiveness, citing the country's prowess in information technology.
Picking up from his visit earlier during the day to the largest software exporter TCS' global software development centre in the city, he said the company has supplied necessary software on which many Chinese banks run today. "This shows that Indian products have the competitive edge in China," Li said.
