Dismissing reports of Narendra Modi wave in the country, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said people of the country would elect a non-Congress non-BJP government at the Centre.
"Media is chanting Modi-Modi. But the fact is that there is no Modi wave in the country," Yadav said, addressing people gathered at his ancesteral village Saifai on the occasion of Holi.
"After the Lok Sabha elections, Modi will not be able to form government. The people will elect only non-Congress, non-BJP government," he said.
Although his party had fixed a target of 75 (out of total 80 seats) in the state, even if it won 50 seats, SP would have the key to form the government at the Centre, he said.
Urging women to vote, Yadav said generally they shun voting and did not participate in electoral process.
"But this time they should vote," he said.
Yadav asked party workers to unite in favour of the party and ensure victory of party candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav asked workers to strengthen the party at the Centre stating that it would help in development of the state.
SP national general Secretary Ramgopal Yadav, cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav also celebrated Holi with family in the village.
