No new tax in Jharkhand budget for 2017-18

The Jharkhand government has not introduced any new tax in the budget for 2017-18 which has a total outlay of Rs 75,673.42 crore.
In his budget speech today, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said education and rural development have got priority in the budget, with 13.90 per cent and 13.84 per cent of the total outlay allocated for the sectors, respectively.
On the state's finances, the share of central taxes contributes 27.80 per cent, followed by state's own taxes (26.30 per cent), state's own non-taxes (14.88 per cent), grants-in-aid (17.73 per cent), borrowings (13.21 per cent), recovery of loans and advances (0.08 per cent).
The chief minister added that 2017-18 fiscal would be 'Garib Kalyan Varsh' and the budget provisions would be dedicated to the welfare of the poorest of society.
