No of factories, value of output rise in Delhi

The national capital saw around 13.7 per cent growth in its factory output, which employs at around 1.26 lakh workers, mostly in the areas of leather, textile and apparel manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade among others in the 2012-13 period.
The report on 'Annual Survey of Industries', released by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today, says that the number of working factories have also increased from 2,976 in 2011-12 to 3,183 in 2012-13.
With a rise in their number, total number of employees working in these factories increased from 1.19 lakh to 1.26 lakh in the same period.
"The total emoluments paid to these employees increased from Rs 2,260 crore to Rs 2,577 crore. And in 1,426 out of all the factories the number of workers are above 100. In 204 factories the number of workers are 500 and above," the report says.
The report, prepared by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics of the government, reveals that the most number of factories, 940, are located in the south district, closely followed by the northwest district which has 912.
Among the rest, 829 factories are located in the west District, 205 and 98 in East and Central districts respectively.
"Out of 3183 working factories, about 1022 came into existence in Delhi after the year 2010 and 134 after the year 2011. Moreover, 27 factories established before the year 1950 are still in operation. About 1266 factories are classified as Private Limited Companies, 1055 are under Individual Proprietorship and 775 are under Partnership," the report adds.
The value of input material used in these factories increased from Rs 43,949 crore in 2011-12 to 49,024 crore in 2012-13. The output - input ratio stands at 1.18 while the value added output ratio is at 0.14.
