Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said there is no place for middlemen in government schemes being run in the districts.
Stating that there was no dearth of funds for public welfare works, the chief minister asked the Dumka district officials to work in mission mode and complete the work for providing drinking water facility in primitive tribal villages in the next four months.
Das was in Dumka on Tuesday for holding a review meeting of district level development schemes.
He also asked the district authorities to complete the construction of 900 'Birsa Awas' by February 2019, an official press release said.
Under the Birsa Awas Yojana, the state government provides houses to primitive tribes of the state.
Sakhi Mandals can be assigned the responsibility for the same and they can be given Rs 1000 as incentive for each house, the release quoted the chief minister as having said.
Women below poverty line are associated with Sakhi Mandal and 1.25 lakh such societies have been set up in 200 blocks of 19 districts of Jharkhand.
The chief minister also directed the authorities to complete construction of 1700 Ambedkar Awas for widows within the deadline.
