"I honestly have no interest in politics, I don't think, I could ever get into politics," said Shetty, who was in the city to launch her spa outlet.
When asked about the person, who should become the next Prime Minister of India, Shetty, 38, without naming anyone said, "From my point of view as a common person the PM of India should be a person who must keep the nation first and himself later."
"He should be the one who must take the country forward on the path of development," she added.
The Indian Premier League(IPL) gave such players a platform to come forward and represent the nation, she said.
On a question about the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar being conferred with Bharat Ratna, she said he deserves all the awards.
