Government today said there is no proposal under its consideration to include the Bhagwad Gita, Vedas and other religious books in the school curriculum.
"There is no such proposal under consideration of the (Human Resource Development) Ministry," HRD Minister Smriti Irani said in a written response to a member's question in the Lok Sabha.
Replying to another question, Irani said that students of class VI to VIII of Kendriya Vidyalayas desirous of learning German language are allowed to study it as an additional subject provided 15 or more students in a school opt for it.
