The division bench of Justices P V Hardas and A R Joshi was hearing the petition filed by Shivani Ahluwalia, seeking to quash the FIR lodged by Zuby Kochar, Kumar's wife.
According to Ahluwalia's lawyer J A Udaipuri, Kochar wanted some spiritual intervention and had first approached a god-man in Vasai in 2000, where she met Ahluwalia. Not happy with the god-man's services, she came to Ahluwalia, and had been visiting her for the last ten years.
Additional Public Prosecutor Ajey Gadkari said the investigation was nearing completion and Amboli police were likely to file a chargesheet soon.
The court then said the petitioner could seek discharge from the case after the chargesheet is filed, instead of getting the FIR quashed.
