"The party is united and there is no issue related to the leadeship of the state unit," he told reporters when asked about the likelihood of a change of guard in the state Congress.
"There is no rift in the party," the Punjab Congress head said adding "I am trying to strengthen the party in the state".
The Congress would launch a state-wide agitation if any attempt was made to impose taxes on the people by the SAD-BJP government, he said.
On the power front, Amarinder said farmers had to spend lakhs of rupees on generator sets to irrigate their fields and the state government had done nothing to help them out.
He accused Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal of making foreign tour at government expense.
