VHP leader Pravin Togadia today said there would be no agitation against "elder brother" Narendra Modi-led Centre for building Ram temple in Ayodhya till the completion of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, due next year, as the outfit did not want to politicise the issue.
"Till UP elections, there will not be any protestsagainst Modi government at the Centre. We do not want topoliticise the issue. How can we protest against our elderbrother (Modi)?" he said.
Togadia, here to attend the Bajrang Dal National Convention, said, "Brothers, the agitation against the central government will be when rival party is ruling. Now it is our elder brother's (Modi) government. Have you ever seen younger brothers taking on elder brother? Can we protest against our elder brother?"

To a question, Togadia said if there were attempts to ban jallikattu in Tamil Nadu and Kambala, an annual buffalo race in the muddy fields of coastal Karnataka, similar ban should be imposed on sacrificing of animals during Bakrid too.
"I want to ask, on the occasion of Bakrid, animals including goats are sacrificed. Will this also be banned in this country? Hence, there should be an equal law for everybody. Let people decide," he said.
Togadia said in the name of animal love, it was not appropriate to "discriminate and hurt" the sentiments of Hindus by making efforts to ban jallikattu and Kambala.
"You enact a uniform law (to ban Jallikattu andKambala), if there is also a ban on sacrificing animalsincluding goats and sheeps on the occasion of Bakrid," hesaid.
Togadia also said there was a similarity between Pathankot and Malda violence in West Bengal.Such jihadi attacks and communal violence were dangerousfor the lives and wealth of the majority people, he said.
