NoC needed import of 12 controlled substances: DGFT

Imports of 12 'controlled substances' such as potassium permanganate and butanone will require a no-objection certificate from narcotics department, government said today.
"Import of (12) controlled substances shall be permitted subject to 'No Objection Certificate' from Narcotics Commissioner of India, Gwalior," Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
Earlier there was no such condition on the imports of these substances.
Controlled substances are drugs that have some potential for abuse or dependence.
