The district administration today sought suggestions from public, including industrialists, builders and institution heads to combat the menace of air pollution in the city.
District Magistrate N P Singh said this during an air pollution review meeting held at the D M camp here.
He appealed to residents, industrialists, builders and institution managers to provide suggestion for decreasing air pollution in the city.
Suggestions can be submitted in a week and on the basis of suggestions, the district action plan will be modified.
Singh converted the review meeting to a discussion meeting and sought suggestions from district officers and industrialists and RWA (resident welfare association) members present at the meeting.
Industrialists suggested different weekly off for different industrial sectors.
Noida has three industrial clusters Noida phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3.
Further it was also suggested that working periods too should be staggered. Some can start at 8 am and others at 10 am or 11 am.
This will reduce traffic congestion and hence decrease air pollution level from vehicular emissions.
The district magistrate suggested that construction material suppliers should ensure that sand and other materials are transported with polythene cover on it so that sand particles do not pollute the air.
He also directed builders to follow National Green Tribunal directions and ensure they do not cause air pollution.
